Make your own fabric labels

This is the final label for the bags.

We also made also made a fabric label to stitch onto the bags for the teachers. All you need is cotton fabric and freezer paper . You can buy it on a roll or sheets which is a little smaller than A4 size. Cut your fabric and paper if from a roll  to A4 size. If you have sheets of paper cut the fabric to sheet size. Now iron the fabric onto shiny side of the paper . Medium heat . You print your image on the ink jet printer. Make sure you place the paper the correct way up to print on the fabric side. When printed leave to dry . Then peel off and iron the set the ink.
This the original drawing my daughter did and I  scaned the image into the computor . I use office pulisher. And store it in clip art I find that easy for me.

Teacher's end of term presents

It is that time of the year agian . It has gone fast . My youngest is still in primary school and it is gift time for the hard work the teacher has done . I had to get 3 . My daughter's class has 2 teacher assistant. We hand made our gifts this year. I decided to use up some of my fabrics. I made scented hearts, covered mirrors and tissue holders, all matching. Also bought blank cotton bags and painted them , well my daugther did.  I hope they like the gifts . I wanted to give them something useful.

Hello,
Hope you are all enjoying the mild weather. These are wall hangings I made for care homes in East London.
They needed hanging for the residents to touch and talk about. They are machine and alot of hand embroidery. Along time to make. Well worth it as they looked beautiful when finished.

The 2 above are from one of the resident's paintings at the carehome.

This one I made up the picture for the home.

From another resident's painting.

Practical ideas

Hello again ,
Something useful , this my quilting reel , for my quilt . It was surrounded by paper  not to unravel but eventually it tore. So I knitted it a jacket  . Made it smaller than the circumference so that it stretches around the reel.

My Quilt

My cross stitch quilt I have been sewing for along time . There is light at the end of the tunnel. I am coming to the end of the quilting part and then to decide how to finish the edges. You must be wondering why I am so please to finish is because I started it the year when my 1st daughther was born . Sit down , it is 13 years ago.  I did stop sewing it for a while. I use to take it to work to sew at lunch times. That was good as I was just behind Oxford Circus  it stopped from shopping. I now make the effort and sew for an hour  each day. It is called the tree of life. I bought it in Liberty when the Christmas sale was on . Half price and it had the printed cotton and all the threads and instructions.
